The Hershey – Chase Experiment was not a single experiment but a series of multiple experiments being conducted by Alfred Hershey and Martha Chase in regard to DNA and genetic space.

The results of these experiments concluded with the statement that the DNA, not the main protein was the genetic material.

The results also showed that internal DNA is conferred its ability to produce the progeny under the inside part of a bacterium.

As I can't see the options here, I'll brief about the Hershey-Chase experiment.

This follows four steps with two different conditions.

Steps -

i) Radioactively labelled bacteriophages are introduced inside bacterial cells.

ii) Agitated in a blender to separate the  bacteriophages from the cells.

iii) The solution was centrifuged to made the separation of the phages and the cells possible.

iv) The bacterial cells are tested for radioactivity.

Condition 1 - Radioactive protein is used in the bacteriophages.

Observation- Non-radioactive cells at the end.

Condition 1 - Radioactive DNA is used in the bacteriophages.

   Observation- Radioactive cells are observed.

Conclusion - DNA is the genetic material not protein.
