• Rana tigrina is the scientific name of frog belonging to class Amphibia. They are cold-blooded animals or poikilotherms.
• Frogs have well organised male and female reproductive structures. Hence, their sexes are separate.
• Sexual reproduction in frogs takes place by fusion of the sperm of the male with the ova of the female outside the body in an external medium like water. This is known as external fertilization.
