Polymers are large molecules which comprises of many atoms  strung together in a repeating pattern. It can be divided into two categories:

Natural polymers and Synthetic polymers

Natural polymers as the name suggest found in nature, often water based and can be extracted.

Starch, DNA and Cellulose are prime example of natural polymers.

Glucose is a monomer and not a polymer as it a single unit. When a large number of glucose molecules are held together by glycosidic bond it turns into a polymer.
