Given,

Which of the following is not a polynomial

\[\begin{array}{l}\left( a \right)3x + 5\\\left( b \right)3{y^3} - 4{y^2} + 2y\\\left( c \right){x^3} - 3\\\left( d \right)\frac{1}{{x + 2}}\end{array}\]

Solution,

Know that a polynomial is an expression consisting of indeterminates and coefficients along with the mathematical operations.

Know that here the option (a), (b) and (c) have a whole number in their powers hence the given terms are polynomials.

In option (d), after factorization the power of x is negative, therefore, it is not a polynomial.

Hence. the correct option is (d) i.e. \[\frac{1}{{x + 2}}.\]
