Function Key

Function Key is not a Toggle key.

  • A function key is a type of soft key that can be designed to instruct an operating system command interpreter or application software to carry out certain operations when pressed on a computer or terminal keyboard.
  • On some keyboards and computers, the function keys may have pre-programmed default operations.
  • One of the "F" keys along the top of a computer keyboard is a function key. These keys range from F1 to F12 on certain keyboards, whereas they range from F1 to F19 on others. F5 is an example of a function key that can be used alone or in combination with one or more modifier keys.
