Given :  a. 7√5 b. √2 + 2√2 c. (√7 − 3) − √7 d. √3 + 2

To Find : Which of the following given is not an irrational number

Solution:

Real numbers which can be written in the form of p/q

where p , q are integers and q ≠ 0

are rational numbers

all other real numbers are irrational numbers

a. 7√5    is an irrational number  as √5  is an irrational number

product of an irrational number with non zero rational number is always an irrational number

√2 + 2√2   = 3√2    is an irrational number  as √2  is an irrational number

(√7 − 3) − √7  =  - 3

= - 3/1    hence Rational number

√3 + 2   is an irrational number  as √3   is an irrational number

Sum of a rational number and irrational number is always an irrational number

Hence  (√7 − 3) − √7   is not an irrational number
