Rutherford explained everything in his model. But he failed to explain its stability. He said that electrons revolve in circular paths called orbits. But, when an object will revolve in a circular path, it experiences acceleration. Due to this acceleration, the electrons will radiate energy while it is revolving. This causes the atom to lose energy and finally fall into the nucleus. In such a case, the atom would be highly unstable and would collapse.
