Given :  Different expressions/numbers

To Find :  Which of the following is not irrational?

a) (2 - Root(3))2

b) (Root(2) + Root(3))(Root(3)-Root(2))

c) (Root(2) + Root(3))2

d) 3xRoot(7)/7

Solution:

Rational numbers are the real numbers which can be written in the form p/q where q ≠ 0  and p ,q  are integers

All other real numbers are irrational numbers.

a)

(2 - √3)2

= 4  - 2√3

Irrational number

b)

(√2 + √3)(√3 - √2)

= (√3 + √2)(√3 - √2)

= 3 - 2

= 1

Rational Number   ( hence not irrational number)

c) (√2  +√3 )2

= 2√2 + 2√3

Irrational number

d)   3 * √7/ 7

= 3/√7

Irrational number

Correct option is option b)

(√2 + √3)(√3 - √2) is not irrational number
