Among the given options Option (c) Centriole is not present in the nucleus.
Nuclear envelope, Nucleolus, and Nucleoplasm are present in the nucleus.
Structure of the nucleus of the cell:
- The circular or oval structure present in the center of the cell is called the nucleus.
- Robert Brown first discovered it.
- Usually, a cell has one nucleus.
The nucleus consists of the following major parts-
1. Nuclear membrane -
- A double layer covering the nucleus is called a nuclear membrane.
- It has many small holes through which the nuclear matter inside the nucleus can go out.
2. Nucleoplasm –
- The substance surrounded by the nuclear membrane is called Nucleoplasm.
- It is a transparent, cohesive liquid made up of nucleoproteins.
- It contains ribosomes, mineral salts, enzymes, RNA, chromatin threads, and nuclei.
3. Chromatin material -
- Chromatin is a network of fine thread-like structures.
- Whenever a cell is about to divide, it gets organized into chromosomes.
- Chromosomes have genetic properties passed on from parents to the next generation in the form of DNA (deoxy ribonucleic acid) molecules.
- The RNA in the nucleus is ribonucleic acid which helps in protein synthesis.
4. Nucleolus -
- The cell's nucleus consists of one or two nucleoli.
- It contains protein, RNA, and DNA.
Centriole:
- The centriole is a dotted structure found in animal cells.
- It takes part in cell division.
- They have their RNA and DNA.
- Centrioles producing cilia and flagella are called basal bodies.
