Given,

Two algebraic expressions x² - y² and y² - x².

To find,

What is obtained after subtracting x² - y² from y² - x².

Solution,

On subtracting x² - y² from y² - x² we get,

⇒   y² - x² - ( x² - y²).

The sign will change after opening the brackets and hence we would get,

⇒    y² - x² - x² + y².

⇒   2y² - 2x²

Taking 2 as common in both the terms x² and y² we get,

⇒   2(y²-x²).

It can also be represented as -2(x²-y²).

Hence,  2(y²-x²) is obtained after subtracting x² - y² from y² - x². (Option 1)
