we take Hindi as our national language just for speaking but actually our constitution doesn't promote any language as national language. mostly Hindi is spoken by most of the citizens it our country. for any official work Hindi and English is used.

Here our Country is a secular country. No religions are official, no religions are national.

Same in the way with language.
None of the language is official, none of them is national.
All are equal . By our Constitution 22 languages are valid in India and the remaining are dialect.

Our Constitution doesn't promote any language . This is because our country was seperated from Pakistan due to religion and if our country would announce any official or national Language then our country would seperate on the basis of language. This was the fear of our Former Prime Minister and Home Minister (1st) Pt. Jawahar LAL Nehru and Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.

=> A 52 days hunger strike was done by Potti Shriramullu Because of the same reason.
