The most “primitive ancestor of man” is the Australopithecus.
The Australopithecus are a race of humanoids that originated in eastern Africa about 4 million years ago. They then migrated to different parts of the world. These species were on the record considered to be extinct 2 million years ago but there are reports saying that very meagre amount of this species exist still on earth.
They are considered as an integral part of evolution, as they are the first species which had genes that developed the mental ability of the neurons.
