The most stable species is ph3C+

  • As , it contain phenyl ring so by means of resonance it disperse the positive charge on the carbon .

  • The more the dispersion of the positive charge ,the more stable is the carbocation species.

  • In case of ph2C+H and phC+H2 there is two and one phenyl ring respectively so the extent of dispersion is less as compare to ph3C+ so it is less stable than ph3C+. Hence , the most stable species is ph3C+.

  • In case of C+H3 , it doesn't contain any phenyl ring so no resonance and no dispersion of the positive charge . Hence, it is the least stable.
