Answer:

In order for sound refection the incident angle and the reflected wave should be equal to the normal. The reflected surface should be 'polished and rough' so that the reflection of the sound waves can happen and thereby the “angle of incidence” will be equal to the normal

Requirements for the regular reflection of sound.

  • For reflection to occur, the surface has to be either solid or liquid.
  • Sound can reflect from both rough and polished surfaces, unlike light.
  • The surface should be of considerably larger size, which means it has to be greater than the soundwave's wavelength.
  • If it is a small surface the sound waves might scatter.
  • It also has to follow the reflection laws for sound which are;

             1. The angles of incidence and reflection have to be equal.

             2. The plane of the incident, reflected and normal sound has to be the same.
