The statement true about work is (2) SI unit of work is Joule.

Definition of work;

Work is the measure of transfer of energy done by the object over a distance by an external force applied in the direction of displacement.

Characteristics of work;

  • Work can be either positive or negative. If the force is in the same direction with the displacement of object the force will be positive work. Where as the force is in an opposite direction to the displacement it represents negative work.
  • Work represents into three factors;
  1. Force
  2. Displacement
  3. Cause
  • Work analyze the physical situations  and measured in Joule.

Therefore, Work represents the measure of energy done by the object over a distance with three factors i.e force, displacement, and cause.
