The given equation of a curve is ,

→h(x)= -2 x^{2}

As , we have to check out of three points ,(a) (1, -4). (b) (1, -2),(c) (1, 4) which are the points that lie on this curve.

Substituting (a) (1, -4) in above equation of curve,

→  -4 ≠ -2×1²

    ≠ -2

L.H.S ≠ R.H.S

Substituting (a) (1, -2) in above equation of curve,

→ -2 = -2× 1²=-2

L.H.S = R.H.S

Substituting (a) (1, 4) in above equation of curve,

→4 ≠ -2× 1²≠ -2

→L.H.S ≠ R.H.S

Point (1,-2) lies on curveh(x) = -2x^{2}

We can check graphically also,

Draw the graph of the curve and check whether these points lie on the curve or not.
