ANSWER

(2, 3)

SOLUTION ✍️

First, find the equation of the line joining A(0,1) and B(-2,0).

(x - 0) / (-2 0) = (y - 1) / (0 1)

x / (-2) = (y - 1) / (-1)

x = -2 × (y - 1) / -1

x = 2(y - 1)

x = 2y - 2

2y - x - 2 = 0 _(1)

Now if a points lies on the line AB, the point must satisfy Eq.(1). So, let check all coordinates one by one;

➠‎ C(-6,-2)

  • LHS =-4+6–2 = 0 = RHS. So C lies on AB.

➠‎ D(-4,-1)

  • LHS = -2+4–2 = 0 = RHS. So D lies on AB.

➠‎ E(6,4)

  • LHS = 8–6–2 = 0 = RHS. So E lies on AB.

➠‎ F(2,3)

  • LHS = 6–2–2 = 2 , which is not = RHS. So F does not lie on AB.

Point (2,3) does not lie on the line joining A(0,1) and B(-2,0).
