Growth in living organism is internal whereas in non living organism it is external.

Growth in non living organism are external as it increase in size by the accumlation of materials whereas in living organism the growth is internal and increase in size occur due to multiplication of cell, increase in protoplasmic material.

Growth in animals and plants differs as animal exhibit definite growth and stops after some time whereas plant growth is indefinite.
