The condensed structural formula of Neo hexane is (d) (CH₃)₃CCH₂CH₃

Neo hexane is a type of structural isomer of hexane. There can be the following 5 types of structural isomer of Hexane:

  • Normal hexane
  • Iso hexane or, 2-Methyl pentane
  • 3-Methyl pentane
  • 2,3-Dimethyl butane
  • Neo hexane or, 2,2-Dimethyl butane

Neo hexane contains 4 Carbon atoms in the parent chain and 2 Carbon atoms as branched chain added to the 2nd Carbon. And the IUPAC name is also done accordingly.
