NaN means (b) Not a Number. This is a numeric data type which represents an undefined value in floating point calculations.

NaNs was introduced by the IEEE754 floating point standard in 1985 and there were two separate kinds of KaNs such as quite NaNs and Signalling NaNs.

For example, NaN can be used to describe 0/0 because it is an undefined real number.
