e.g- nitrogen dioxide (NO2) , Nitrogen oxide(N2O)
in the air react with water to produce acids.
Such as :- sulphuric acid and nitric acid( strong acids).
These acids fall to earth as acid rain. When acid rain hits the ground it releases metal ions from the soil (Al,Cd,Hg and Pb) which leach into the aquifiers (that is the place where water is held) poisoning fish and animals including us when we eat fish. Even without the metals the fish can't actually survive in such an acidic environment.
