Neurons:

Neurons consist of a cell body, myelin. Nodes of Ranvier, etc. Neurons are responsible for transmission of information in the entire body.

In the auditory system, the auditory nerves transit message to the parts responsible to act on the message which are the CNS and peripheral nervous system. The CNS comprised of the spinal cord and brain trigger a reaction when receiving a message from the auditory nerves through the peripheral nervous system.
