Explanation:

The  distribution of water in the Kaveri River is a source of serous conflict between the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka . The origin of this conflict was based on two agreements between the president of Madras and the Kingdom of Mysore in 1892 and 1924. Decades of negotiations  between  the countries yeilded nothing  until 1990 , when the Government of India set up a court to deal with  issue . After 16 years of hearing arguments about both sides , the court delivered its  final decision on February  5, 2007.  By court order , 419 TMCs of water were distributed annually among Tamil Nadu and 282 TMCs in Karnataka , 30 TMC from Cauvery River water to Kerala , 7 TMC  to Puducherry.
