the process of changing the solid directly into gas without going through liquid and vice versa is called sublimation.mercury ,dry ice and iodine sublime.because they have not much kinetic energy to be diffused.because the particles of liquid continuously move as they have little kinetic energy.freezing point of water is 0c.because they have large intermolecular space to be diffused and high kinetic energy and thus show diffusion.
