Roger Federer defeated Romanian qualifier Marius Copil in the final of the Swiss Indoor Tennis Tournament in October 2018 to register his 99th career title . He won 7-6(5) 6-4  in front of his home crowd in Basel to win his ninth Swiss Indoors title.

He is now stands second in the list of all time greats, with Jimmy Connors of USA who has 109 titles to his name.
