Which of the following triangle can be constructed ?
1. 9m, 5m, 3m and

(i) 9m, 5m and 3m

We know that sum of 2 measurements of the triangle is always greater than the 3rd side.

So, let us check whether the given measurements are of Triangle or not.

9 + 5 = 14m which is greater than the 3rd side.
5 + 3 = 8m which is smaller than the third side and hence, a triangle cannot be constructed by these measurements.

(ii) 10cm, 10cm and 4cm

We know that sum of 2 measurements of the triangle is always greater than the 3rd side.

So, let us check whether the given measurements are of Triangle or not.

10 + 10 = 20 which is greater than the 3rd side.
10 + 4 = 14 which is also greater than the 3rd side.

Since the given measurements satisfy the needs, hence a triangle can be constructed.
