Hey there!!!

MgCl2 and NaCl conducts electricity because they are electrovalent compounds

while

CCl4 and CS2 does not contains electricity because they are covalent compounds.

yashula: Can you give me the Reason??
rohitsnair2015: MgCl2 and NaCl will conduct electricity beacause they are ionic compounds and has free electrons in them which can move freely. CCl4 and CS2 are covalent compounds which does not have free electrons as they share electron pairs between them.

1)MgCl2

2)Nacl

This is because ionic compound does not conduct electricity(except in molten state)
