The solubility of the salt is highest in the hot water because of the following reasons: ( Option-c )

  • When a glass of water is heated up, molecules gain charge, and hence the molecular movement of the water will increase drastically.
  • Hence, the molecules of water will collide more often. Therefore, they come into contact with the salt more often, causing it to dissolve faster.
  • And also the density of hot water is very much less than the density of cold water so the molecules are packed very spaciously in the case of hot water so that salt can dissolve in it very easily
  • Hence hot water will easily allow more salt to be dissolved in it.
