Hydrocarbons and it's halogen derivatives are insoluble or immiscible in Water and hence it does not reacts with water

only Cl3CCHO reacts with water to form soluble hydrate whivh was used to be hypontic and seductive agent

When Chloral reacts with water it forms Chloral hydrate

ANSWER-b from MS chauhan

Explanation-Trichloroacetaldehyde CCl3C H O reacts with water to form very stable product CCl 3 CH(OH) 2

which is hydrate of trichloracetaldehyde.

It is also called chloral hydrate.

It is stable due to intramolecular hydrogen bonding in its butterfly like structure.CH3Cl, CCl4and CH2ClCH2Cl do not react with water.

also CCl4react with water but the reaction takes place at 500°C so it is not possible here
