Hii buddy,

● Answer -

(a) Co^+2

● Borax bead test -

  • Borax bead test is used for detection of transition metals.
  • Borax when heated with salts of transition metals, yields salt of certain colours.
  • When borax is heated with cobalt sulphate, a blue salt of cobalt metaborate is formed.

Na2B4O7 ---> 2NaBO2 + B2O3

CoSO4 ---> CoO + SO3

CoO + B2O3 ---> Co(BO2)2

Hope this helped you.
