Metals that displaces hydrogen gas from hydrochloric acid is :

• Reaction of silver with hydrochloric acid does not give hydrogen gas as silver is less reactive than hydrogen and have higher reduction potential, so it cannot displace hydrogen gas form HCl.

• Reaction of Zinc with hydrochloric acid readily gives hydrogen gas

Zn + HCl → ZnCl₂ + H₂↑

• As zinc is more reactive than hydrogen, so it can easily displace hydrogen gas from HCl.
