Since wool has insulative properties this material can be used to wrap a tumbler which is full of hot water.
There have been some evidence where we see that wool actually has the ability to produce heat in little amounts and it retains it even when it is wet.
Cotton does not have insulating properties since it takes all of the moisture from the body by cooling you down.
