c) As light enters the atmosphere, the air gets thicker, and the index of refraction rises slowly from exactly 1 in vacuum to about 1.0003 at sea level. Light coming straight down at noon in the tropics is unaffected. Light coming in at an angle is bent downward. The most important effect happens at sunrise and sunset; light can actually bend a small way around the earth! When the sun is very close to the horizon, it is actually *behind* the curve of the earth—the light has bent around to you. So the day is slightly longer (a few minutes or so) than it would be without an atmosphere
b)Because the sun is low on the horizon, sunlight passes through more air at sunset and sunrise than during the day, when the sun is higher in the sky.More atmosphere means more molecules to scatter the violet and blue light away from your eyes.
a) It is also correct.
So all of the above (d)
