The soil having the b) highest percolation rate of water is - clay soil. The water absorption rate of a soil is known as percolation rate. The sandy soil having the largest particle size fails to absorb more water whereas the clay has the smallest particle size and thereby it retains good amount of water in it.

Answer:
1- Clay soil: It has highest water holding capacity, These soils are made of over 25 percent clay, and because of the spaces found between clay particles, clay soils hold a high amount of water.
2- Silt soil: It is moisture retentive soil, it compromise of medium sized particles they are well drained and hold moisture well.
3- Peat soil: It retain a large amount of moisture.
