a. triangles whose all sides are different are called scalen triangles

9m,5m,3m

all the sides are different so, it is a scalen triangle

b.triangles whose two sides are same are called isosceles triangles

two sides are same so it is a isosceles triangle

10m,10m,4m

two

Which of the triangles who three sides are given below can be constructed?

(a) 9m , 5m , 3m

(b) 10cm , 10cm , 4cm

\huge{\mathcal\pink{Solution:}}

(a) 9m , 5m , 3m

Adding up the sides, taking two at time, we get:

9m + 5m = 14m > 3m

9m + 3m = 12m > 5m

but, 5m + 3m = 8m < 9m

So, we see that sum of one pair of sides when added is not greater than the third side.

Therefore, we cannot draw a triangle with these measurements.

(b) 10cm , 10cm , 4cm

Adding up the sides, taking two at a time, we get:

10cm + 10cm = 20cm > 4cm

10cm + 4cm = 14cm > 10cm

4cm + 10cm = 14cm > 10cm

So, in each case, the sum of two sides is greater than the third side.

Hence, this triangle can be constructed.
