Out of the above two civilizations, Harapan civilization was more advanced because of the following reasons.
1) Harappan civilization is known for its highly developed cities, excellent sewer system, underground drainage system, bathing system and rectangular streets etc. whereas these were absent in the Mesopotamian civilization.
2) The social conditions of the citizens in Harappan period were superior in comparison to that of Mesopotamian people.
3) The system of slavery was present in Mesopotamia civilization where as the system of slavery was not present in the Harappan civilization. People were free to choose any work in Harappan period.
4) The towns and cities were planned more systematically and in grid pattern in the Harappan civilization whereas in Mesopotamian civilization the cities and town were not very well developed.
