okas we have read in tge chapter "A question of trust" abt a thief called horace who loved yo read books. he used to steal money to buy very expensive books as it was his passion. when while stealing the locker he found the lady who introduced herself as the owner of the house fooled him and made him open the locker without using his gloves and promising him to never get someone that he came to steal money. when the police investigated they found that horace is the thief and caught him. the girl in the red dress and horace both were thief and were cheaters so actually its a lot tough to say who was the real thief.
