DSS stands for Decision Support System. GDSS stands for Group Decision Support System. ESS stands for Employee Self-Service.
As the acronyms suggest, DSS and GDSS support decision making; ESS does not do so. DSS is an information system that supports to an organisation’s decision making activities. GDSS is a interactive software, which supports collective decision making by a group of individuals.
But, ESS is different. It is an online service available to eligible employees to access one’s own personal information in a secure way, from the convenience of office or home.
