Emmanuel Macron became the president of France. Emmanuel Macron is a politician of France who became the President of France in 2017. He was earlier the Minister of Industry, Economy and Digital Affairs during the period 2014 to 2016.

Macron stood for the 2017 elections under a centrist political movement which he founded in April 2016. It was named the 'En Marche!'. Macron won the election with 66.1% of total votes in the second round that was announced on 7 May 2017 .

Macron is the youngest President of France in its history as he was only 39 years old at the time. He further appointed Édouard Philippe as the Prime Minister of the country.

Macron's party which is called the "La République en marche" (LREM), allied with the Democratic Movement (MoDem) for the legislative elctions that were held in June 2017. Together, they won a majority in the National Assembly also.
