Maqbool Fida Hussain was born on 17th September 1915 in Pandharpur, Maharashtra. He was one of the most famous artists in India, known all over the world for his amazing paintings that he created during his lifetime. So, huge is the popularity of his paintings that M. F. Hussain was called the "Picasso of India" by the Forbes Magazine. Hussain was largely responsible in modernizing Indian art as he was one of the most influential founding members of Bombay Progressive Artists' Group. Apart from Padma Vibhushan in 1991, Hussain was also awarded Padma Bhushan in 1973. M. F. Hussain was died on 9th June 2011.
