Question - Which of these liquids give the least buoyant

force ?

(a)' honey (density = 1.43 gm/cm³)

(b) vegetables oil (density = 0.91 gm/cm³)

(c) milk (density = 1.018gm/cm³)

Answer - (b) vegetables oil (density = 0.91 gm/cm³) will give least buoyant force.

  • Buoyancy or buoyant force is defined as the "The upward force applied by the fluid on the object or the body when an object is put in or submerged in the fluid."
  • Buoyant force depends upon density of fluid.
  • Higher the density, higher will be the force and vice versa.
  • Hence, among the given options, vegetable oil will least density will give least buoyant force.
