explanation : if electronegativity difference of two atoms doesn't equal zero, then bond formed by these atoms must be polar. to identify polarity of molecule we use generally VSEPR-theory, according to this theory, if lone pairs doesn't exist in any molecule , then shape of molecule will be symmetrical. generally, dipole moment of symmetrical molecule equals zero or molecule is non-polar. but sometimes symmetrical molecule has polar because attached bonds have different polarity means the effect of polar bonds is not cancelled.so, it will be polar .

here, lone pairs of SO2 = 1 so, it is polar.

lone pairs of CH2Cl2 = 0 so, CH2Cl2 is symmetrical, the differing polarities of the C–H and C–Cl bonds means the effect of the polar bonds is not cancelled, so the molecule is polar.

lone pairs of PCl3 = 1 so, if is polar .
