● Explanation -
- Fehling's solution is used to distinguish between aldehydes and ketones chemically.
- Aldehydes on warwimg with Fehling's solution, gives red brown precipitate due to formation of carboxylate ion.
- Ketones don't give any reaction with Fehling's solution.
- Hence, propanone being a ketone won't react with Fehling's solution.
