Dust bowl forced farmers to step out from the business. They lost they homes, farm lands, shelters and economy. Because of the dust bowl, prices of their crops falls deep down. It became so hard to regain the livelihood even though the federal government sent relief measures.
Farmers were pushed to the extend of selling their lands to low prize. Agricultural families were migrated from their land to cities like California to search new jobs and end up being homeless and wanderers.
As the dust bowl occurred during the period of great depression, it made the economy more worse where it was already in bad condition.
They were not able to pay off their debts.
This whole dust blow actually continued for more than 10 years.
Hence, it was one of the devastating condition for the farmers.
