Edward James Corbett(Jim Corbett) was a British hunter and was an colonel of British Indian Army. He has hunted a large number of man eating tigers and leopards in India. He played a major role is establishing a reserve for the National animal of India. As a part of this, he influenced the government of India to establish 'Hailey National Park'. However, after his death this park was renamed as Jim Corbett National Park as a memorial to his work and honouring for his contribution.
