If the sun's gravity disappeared the planets will no longer remain in their orbits.

• The sun's gravity pulls on the planets that's why all the planets revolve around the sun.

• If suddenly gravity disappears the planets start to fly tangentially out so they are no longer remain in orbits.

• If the sun disappeared most of the small planets die within a matter of days and Earth's oceans would grow ever colder, reaching to freezing point.
