The answer of your question lies in option (b) meiosis and fertilization Explanation:- To restore the normal number of chromosomes, first of all gametes are formed by meiosis(spermatogenesis in male and oogenesis in female). In meiosis, the number of chromosomes are reduced to half. So male and female gametes containing half of the chromosomes, when unite by the process of fertilization, the resultant zygote will contain deploid (normal) number of chromosomes. So first meiosis takes place in formation of male and female gametes And then by fertilization the normal number of chromosomes are restored. Hope it helps.......
