if the question was saying that they are equal roots and in the form of ax²+bx+c then u can say 1st one is correct because a quadratic equation is always in the form of ax²+bx+c so ur answer is 1st
how can you write alpha + beta = alpha into beta
and if it is given that they are equal roots and in the form of ax²+bx+c then u can solve it by discriminant means b²- 4ac so the answer is 1st one. thanks
