Answer:

Hydrogen chloride (HCL) is more acidic than HF because cl is more electronegative than Floridr And hence it can donate H+ more easily than Florine {F} .

HCL is Stronger than HF  Because electronegativity difference between the H and Cl is less as compared to the electronegativity difference between the H and F.

Explanation:

  • HCL acid is strong acid when compared to HF.
  • The strength of acid is determined by which the acid ionise in the water.
  • The hydrogen, Chlorine bond in HCL will completely dissociate in water that qualifying it as a strong acid.
  • According to Arrhenius  theory, the substance dissolves in the water will release one or more H^+ ions.
  • A strong acid ionise completely in water. If we dissolves HCl in water, the molecule seperates into H^+ and Cl^-.
  • If we dissolves weak acid in water, it ionise partially.
  • HF is weaker because the strong hydrogen bonding with water molecule require more amount of energy to break also there will be some loss of entropy in HF which makes HF more weaker.
