Which one of the following do you think is better and why?
a)FPTP system of election?
b) Proportional Representation?

I think that FPTP is a better system of election because of the following reasons:- i) The entire election system is extremely simple to understand even for common voters who may have no specialised knowledge about politics and elections.
ii) There is also a clear choice presented to the voters at the time of elections.
iii) The FPTP system offers voters a choice not simply between parties but specific candidates.
iv) The voters know who their own representative is and can hold him or her accountable.
v) Moreover, the makers of the Indian Constitution also felt that PR based election may not be suitable for giving a stable govt. in a parliamentary system.
